BARBARA A. THOMPSON, 70, of Chesapeake, OH, passed from
this life on Monday, June 9, 2008 in the Emogene Dolin Jones
Hospice House. Funeral Services will be 1 PM Friday, June 13,
2008, at Fifth Avenue Baptist Church with Dr. Allen Reasons
officiating. Burial will follow in Perkins Ridge Cemetery. A
Daughter of the late Woodrow E. Morris and Pearl Brown Morris,
Barbara graduated from Huntington East High School in 1955 and
was a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church where she also
served on staff as an administrative secretary. In addition to her
parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L.
Thompson; and one sister Lois Eastham. Barbara is survived by
three sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas L. and Jennifer
Thompson of Chesapeake, OH, Darrell and Susan Thompson of
Naples, FL, and David and Amy Thompson of Chesapeake, OH;
four grandchildren, Andrew, Daniel, Valerie, and Cameron
Thompson; and one brother, Donald L. Morris and his wife Betty
of Huntington, WV. Visitation will be held from 12 noon till 1 PM
Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that
memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington.
The family would like to express their appreciation to every special
person from Fifth Avenue Baptist Church, Hospice, and the
caregivers for their sincere love, heartfelt dedication, and support
shown to Barbara. Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake,
