IMOGENE MAXINE PLEASANT, 90, of Burlington, OH, went to
be with the Lord, Saturday, December 5, 2009, in St. Mary’s
Medical Center. Funeral services will be 1 PM Saturday,
December 12, 2009, at First Baptist Church of Burlington with Rev.
Dr. Douglas C. Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Burlington
37 Cemetery. Mrs. Pleasant was born March 23, 1919, in
Burlington, OH, a daughter of the late Ernest M. and Leoata Deed
Boggs. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Burlington.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her
husband of 75 years, Owen Pleasant; two children, Regina Maxine
Pleasant and Charles Howard Pleasant; four sisters, Velma Boggs
Henderson, Tillie Boggs Thomas, Bernice and Carlyle Boggs; two
brothers, Herbert and James Boggs. Mrs. Pleasant is survived by
one son, Maurice Pleasant of Burlington; a special daughter-in-law,
Shirley Pleasant; six grandchildren, Michael (Francine) Pleasant of
Hurricane, WV, Maurice (Dianna) Pleasant, Jr. of Reynoldsburg,
OH, and Marvin Pleasant, Charles Pleasant, Jr., and Fonda
Pleasant all of Huntington, WV, and James Pleasant of Columbus,
OH; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and her
adopted children, Bernard (Maxine) Conwell, Joe (Shirley)
Williams, and Sandy Dalton. Friends may call from 11 AM to 1
PM Saturday at the church. Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home,
