JANICE KIMBLER AMOS 1937 - 2010

JANICE KIMBLER AMOS, 72, of Ironton, OH, went to be with
her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Sunday, January 17, 2010 at
Bryant Health Center in Ironton. Janice was born June 25, 1937 in
Ironton, OH, she was the youngest daughter of the late Simon E.
and Lennie Carey Kimbler. Graveside services will be 2 PM
Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Rome Cemetery. She attended
Ironton High School and was a member of the Ironton Fighting
Tigers Marching Band. To further her education she attended
Morris Harvey College in Charleston, WV and Glenville State
College in Glenville, WV. She also attended Ohio University
where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education
and later attended Marshall University and received her Master’s
Degree in Early Childhood Education, with a minor in Special
Education. She was also a member of Omega Chapter of Kappa
Delta Pi. Janice was a long-time employee of Wal-Mart, both in
Winchester, TN and Burlington, OH. She made many long-lasting
friendships while working there, before retiring in 2007 due to
illness. She was a lover of music and fine arts and was a
passionate player of both the piano and organ. In addition to her
parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Clifford Jack
Kimbler; three sisters, Geraldine Gaye Smith, Willa Mae Farmer
and Ellen Louise Kimbler; one nephew; one niece; one great
nephew; and son-in-law, Billy L. Davis. Janice is survived by her
daughter, Theresa Pinkerman Davis; one sister-in-law, Barbara
Kimbler; two nieces; five nephews; and many great nieces and
nephews. I would especially like to thank Dr. Renaud at KDMC
for the outstanding care and compassion he showed towards both
my mother and myself while she was under his care. Additionally I
would like to thank Community Hospice for the excellent care and
