LEO G. MARTIN, 87, of South Point, Oh went to be with the Lord
Thursday, May 15, 2008 at the Hospice of Huntington. Funeral
Services will be Saturday May 17, 2008 at 1 PM. At
Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake with Rev. Stephen
Haskett officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery,
Pomeroy, OH. Leo was born February 2, 1921 in Pomeroy, Oh, a
son of the late Stephen and Cara Young Martin. After serving in
the Army during World War II, Leo worked for the Herald
Dispatch for over 30 years. In addition to his parents Leo was
preceded in death by a daughter; Veda Rebecca Pearl Martin; his
three sisters and four brothers. Leo is survived by his wife Hester,
of South Point; sons David L. Martin of Barboursville, WV, Daniel
W. Martin of South Point, OH, Stephen H. Martin of Waterloo,
OH, Benjamin D. Martin of South Point, OH, daughter Martha J.
Martin of Huntington, WV; grandchildren Relayna Lockhart of
Chesapeake, OH, Cheryl Harlow, Michelle Ramsey, Joseph M
Bice, Sara Strohmeyer, and Stephen R. Martin all of Huntington;
Vernon T. Bice of New York, NY, Rebecca Carpenter of
Waterloo, OH, and Benjamin D. Martin, Jr. of South Point, OH.
Military Honors by VFW Post 6878 will precede the Funeral
Service. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Friday May 16, 2008 at
Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Condolences may
