MARY LAKIN MICHAEL, 88, of South Point, OH, died February
20, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband James E.
Michael. Funeral services will be 1 PM Friday, February 26, 2010,
at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with Pastors Jerry Greenslait,
Earl Slack and Clyde Carter officiating. Burial will follow in
Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Mary was born
November 24, 1921 in Huntington, WV. She was the daughter of
Claude and Garnet Rayburn Lakin. She was a member of the
South Point Christian Church and the Marcum Chapter 61 Ceredo,
WV Order of the Eastern Star. James and Mary were owners of
Michael Grocery Store at Prichard, WV for many years. She was
preceded in death by her parents and foster parents, Roy and
Blanche Wellman; three brothers, Forrest, Charles R. and Glendal
Lakin. Surviving is a daughter, Carol Masterson and son-in-law
Art Masterson of Lake Worth, FL; son, Greg Michael and
daughter-in-law Janina Michael of Huntington, WV; three
grandchildren, Angela Lester, Suzanne Masterson and Vincent
Masterson all of Lake Worth, FL; two great grandchildren, Barrett
Lilly and Beck Lester; one brother, James Lakin of Titusville, FL;
four special cousins; Sam Wellman, Nell Spears, Nancy Workman
and Pauline Gilkerson. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Thursday at
