PATRICK O’BRIEN, 72, of South Point, OH, died Monday,
January 4, 2010, in Community Hospice in Ashland, KY. Funeral
services will be 11 AM Friday, January 8, 2010, at Schneider-
Griffin Funeral Home with Pastor Matt O’Bryant officiating.
Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, OH. Patrick
was born March 20, 1937, in Mercers Bottom, WV, a son of the
late Patrick Joseph and Lizzie Lee Waugh O’Brien. He was a
retired Tool and Dye Maker for GM and a US Army veteran. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife,
Gloria Mae Pine O’Brien. Patrick is survived by his wife, Carol
Jean O’Brien; three daughters, Tena Asbury, Kelley O’Brien, and
Teresa O’Brien; two step-daughters, Kim Pancake-Mills and
Nikki Hanson; five grandchildren, David Wonoski, Cori Hanson,
Nathan Patterson, Jamie Hanson, and Brandi McQuaid; one great
grandchild, Kadence McQuaid; three siblings, Bonnie Chapman,
Margaret Wentz Olmstead, and Mike O’Brien; and special
friends, Willy Childers and Audra Stephens. The family would like
to extend a special thanks to the staff of Community Hospice.
