Ruth E. Smith 1920 - 2008
RUTH E. SMITH, 87, of South Point, OH went to be with the Lord
on Thursday May 29, 2008 at River’s Bend Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 1 PM on Tuesday June 3, 2008 at Sybene
Independent Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor D.L. Webb
officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, South
Point, OH. Ruth was born August 27, 1920 a daughter of the late
Robert Lee and Della Mae Moses Blake. In addition to her
parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Cecil W.
Beaman, her husband Jessie Smith; 4 sisters Thelma Thomas,
Elma Williams, Dorothy Bills, Alleen Glenn; grandson John Lash;
and great grandson Christopher Lash. Ruth is survived by
daughter Toni Jones, of South Point, OH; five grandchildren Jason
Lash, Ron Scheirer, Jr., Chasidy Morton, Sean Scheirer, and
Nathan Scheirer; great granddaughter Jasmine Lash; great
grandson Devlin Morton; brother George (Opal) Blake; special
nieces Cynthia (Russell) Gordon, and Dixie (Paul) Nicely; special
nephews Greg and Rodney Watts; special friends Tina Carbenia,
David Browning, and Dana Lavoie and other extended friends
outside the family; and many great-nieces and nephews. Friends
may call Monday from 6-8 PM at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home,
